Greetings, I am Žilvinas Butkevičius. I am 37 years old and currently reside in Lithuania. I would like to recount my journey with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the measures I have implemented to enhance my well-being.
In 2020, I received a diagnosis of elevated blood pressure. The situation was critical—260/160—necessitating hospitalization. The healthcare professionals recommended Olmesartan, but regrettably, it didn’t have a significant impact on my condition. I recognized the necessity to seek out different methods, prompting me to investigate various alternatives. I traveled to Rishikesh, India, twice for Ayurvedic treatments. And while it helped to normalize my blood pressure, my kidney filtration index (GFR) still stayed low. It was around 50, whereas it should ideally be between 90 and 120. This meant that my kidney was still a concern for me.
After doing research online and watching videos, I came across a stem cell treatment provider in India. I contacted them on WhatsApp and discussed my condition. Eventually, I decided to travel to India again for the treatment.
The procedure involved two doses of stem cells delivered intravenously. My first dose was on October 8, 2024, and the second was on October 26, 2024. The first dose included 40 million stem cells and exosomes, which are said to help reduce inflammation and promote healing.
How am I doing now?
Six days after my second injection, I had a blood test to check my creatinine level. When I started, my creatinine was at 1.67, and now it’s 1.5. This is a small but encouraging improvement, as the upper limit for normal is 1.4. I understand that results will take time, so I’m keeping track and staying patient.
The process itself was straightforward. The injection went directly into my vein, and the procedure was simple and smooth. At first, I was a little nervous—you pay a significant amount and hope for the best—but the team was professional and supportive. I felt like I was in good hands.
Would I recommend this treatment?
For me, stem cell therapy seems to be making a difference. It’s not an overnight solution, but I feel optimistic about the progress so far. I’ll continue monitoring my condition and staying in touch with the team as needed.
Overall, I am satisfied with the experience, and I hope to see even more improvement in the coming months.
